What material I used for this work and why:
My artist friend Katia, who lives in Berlin, is the widow of the Greek artist Pantelis Sabaliotis. The painting is part of a series of 17 small-format works for which I used exclusively and completely exactly the oil colours that the artist left behind unused due to his early and unexpected death twelve years ago.
I transferred the colours directly from the tube, undiluted and unmixed, onto the canvases. In this way, they fulfil their actual, invisible purpose. An appreciation for my friend and the work of her late husband.
