Following three series featuring animals mainly from the "New World":

"Maman, regarde !"
Réveillon sur Paris
und
Tierpark Berlin

here and here are the two final series so far, featuring sheep, wolves, foxes, dachshunds – mostly animals from the ’Old World".
Okay, okay, I haven’t been quite that strict about sorting the animals by their origin, as peacocks and hippos are more likely to be found in zoos or parks in north-western Europe.

Once again, I have served myself on the internet. What seems simple at first is, in practice, not that easy at all. Which motif to choose? Which one isn’t typically a wild boar, beaver, rat, pigeon or crow? Which motif is too striking or unintentionally kitsch? In what size does it suit which background and thus tell its own story? Or perhaps not?
Appropriation art is not a one-to-one process. At best, I could appropriate the basis; no matter how high the degree of recognition in the result may be, it is in every respect (medium, colours, technique, context) an independent, new work.

Enjoy exploring!

Here sometimes Stephan put together a small collection of his paintings for your convenience. Either new works he wants to show or issues that have touched him just intensively.

Enjoy.
