For the past few years, I’ve preferred to see in the New Year in Paris rather than in Berlin. Why? There’s no war here. No direct bombardment with illegal fireworks bought from Eastern Europe via the dark web. How lovely!

For this series, I’ve used animal motifs by the Brazilian artist Solange Pessoa. I discovered these in the current exhibition at the Fondation Cartier on Rue de Rivoli and just HAD to ‘do something’ with them.
I digitally altered the motifs, enlarging, reducing, duplicating and regrouping them, and supplemented them with further motifs by Solange Pessoa. And, of course, set them in a Parisian setting.

And as you can see, you can’t see a thing!
Because: I have neither the inclination, nor the time, nor the money for a legal battle over copyright.
The data for this 40-part series is stored in a sealed box and may only be viewed and shown after 70 years have elapsed, from 2095 onwards. You could also call it a ‘time capsule’.

This series was created alongside two other groups of works:
Tierpark Berlin
and
Maman, regarde !

curated by Stephan Reichmann (into@stephanreichmann.com), Paris (France)

If you do not want to dig around:

Here sometimes Stephan put together a small collection of his paintings for your convenience. Either new works he wants to show or issues that have touched him just intensively.

Enjoy.
